About Us

Karen Ann Orth has 30 years of experience working with children and families.  In 2018, she founded Kid Power Counseling as a safe haven for families in Auburn, California.  Karen has worked in many settings including private counseling, public and non-public schools, faith-based ministries, private psychiatric facilities, county mental health, group homes, residential treatment facilities, and county child protective services.  She has seen and experienced families in crisis.  What they needed at the time was a proven professional who could facilitate Solution-Focused Interventions to address and resolve complex family issues. 

There is hope.  But first you have to admit help is needed and be willing to trust someone who will join with you to get your child and family to a new and better normal.  Karen is someone who has a proven history of success one family, one child at the time.  “Progress NOT Perfection” is her motto.
